1) The restoration of Kenilworth Gatehouse and Annex
In 1995 English Heritage undertook a major
restitution of Kenilworth Castle gatehouse, including stonework, drainage,
roof, windows and stairs.
Over a period of 5 years I visited the site almost
daily to photograph the progress of the work.
This book is a record of the operation.

In the main this is a collection of the deeds of
many of Kenilworth's outstanding old properties.
Also included are several other items, including Robert
Dudley's will, the perambulation of the parish, the Abbey Survey at
dissolution etc etc.

When the KWN archive was made available it was possible
to save the pictures.
It was a period of great change for the town, with much
development.
Many aspects now lost are here preserved - eg the
pre-fabs, the brickyards, the tannery.

11) Warwick Road Tannery
The tannery grew from Robert Draper's small beginning in
1818 to become the main employer in the town.
Succeeding owners gave their names to two main streets.
It played a central part in the county's greatest banking
scandal.
It was demolished in 1963 to be replaced by Talisman
Square

This slim book details the working of Washbrook, the mill
race that fed the mill on the Common.
It uses contemporary maps, photographs and news items to
tell the story of an 18th century enterprise.
